Stairs

A staircase remodel that finishes the job

New floors next to worn or carpeted stairs never look done. Our stair installation work matches your treads, risers and nosing to the floors around them.

Clean nosing on the edge of each step looks sharp and gives feet a sure edge to find.

We work on stairs in homes and townhouses across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

Matched to your floor

Doing new floors downstairs? Plan the stairs at the same time, so colors and edges line up at the bottom step.

If the floor is part of the job too, see our vinyl flooring installation page.

Services

Our stair installation services

Pick one or combine several. Your written quote lists each part, so you can see what goes into the job.

Carpet-to-vinyl stairs

Carpet, pad and tack strips come off. Vinyl treads, risers and nosing go on, matched to your floor.

New treads and risers

Worn or damaged treads and risers replaced, cut and fitted to each step.

Stair nosing

A clean, solid edge on every step, in a profile and color that suit the floor.

Wood stairs

Oak and dark wood treads with crisp white risers, like the stairs in our photos below.

Curved and spiral stairs

Every curved tread is a different shape. Each one is measured and cut to its own step.

Railings and balusters

New handrails with iron or painted balusters to finish the stair.

No two treads on a curved stair are the same. Each one is measured, cut and fitted to its own step.

Spiral stairs are tighter still, with narrow treads that fan around the turn.

Our photos show curved stairs with oak and dark treads, white risers and iron balusters. Nosing on a curve has to follow the bend cleanly. That is where careful work shows.

New treads often call for a new railing. We install oak handrails with iron balusters, and painted or stained railings to suit the house.

Iron balusters suit both modern and classic homes. It makes sense to update old spindles while the treads are being redone.

Near the ocean, ask about finishes that stand up to salt air.

Stair questions

Which is better, wood stairs or vinyl stairs?

Both work well indoors. Solid wood treads, like oak, can be sanded and refinished later. Vinyl treads resist water and scuffs, and they can match a new vinyl floor. A simple rule: match the floor at the bottom of the stairs.

Can you replace carpet on stairs with vinyl plank?

Yes. We remove the carpet, pad and tack strips and prepare each step. Then we fit vinyl treads, risers and nosing. Damaged steps get repaired first.

Can the stairs match my new floor?

Usually. Many vinyl and wood floor lines sell matching stair nosing. Where one does not, we talk through the closest options before anything is ordered.

Do you work on curved and spiral stairs?

Yes. The photos on this page include curved and spiral stairs we have finished. Each curved tread is measured and fitted to its own step.

Do you install railings and balusters?

Yes. We install handrails and balusters, including iron balusters, to finish the stair. Tell us what you have now and what you want.

How long does a staircase take?

It depends on the number of steps, the shape of the stair and what has to come off first. Your written quote lists the work days. We also tell you when the stairs will be out of use.
