Three kinds of raised floors

One idea, three different jobs

A pedestal raised floor sits on adjustable supports instead of directly on the roof, slab or ground. We build three kinds of pedestal raised floors across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

Each one solves a different problem. Pick yours below, or send photos and we will tell you which fits.

How it works

How pedestal raised floors work

Every pedestal floor has four parts: a base, the pedestals, the surface and the open space between.

How a pedestal raised floor worksPavers or panels sit level on adjustable pedestals over a sloped base, leaving space underneath for water, cables or air. 1. Surface: pavers, deck tiles or floor panels 2. Adjustable pedestals 3. Base: roof, slab or ground (often sloped) 4. Open space for water, cables or air
The pedestals set the height and correct the slope. The surface stays level. Water, cables or air move underneath.

The pedestals set the height

Each pedestal adjusts up or down. Together they set the floor height and correct the slope below.

The surface stays level

Pavers or panels sit flat across the top, even when the base is sloped or uneven.

Water, cables or air move underneath

On a roof, rain drains away below. Indoors, the space carries power, data or cooling air.

Built for South Florida

What changes when the floor is in South Florida

Wind

Miami-Dade and Broward are in Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. We confirm engineering and permit needs before we quote.

Rain

Afternoon storms can drop a lot of water fast. Raised floors let it run off underneath instead of pooling on top.

Sun and salt air

Outdoor porcelain does not rot, swell or rust in heat, humidity or salt air near the ocean.

Buildings and boards

Condo boards, building managers and venues have their own rules. We plan elevators, hours and access with them.

Common questions

Which raised floor do I need?

If it stays outside for good, on a roof, terrace or pool deck, see rooftop pedestal pavers. For a wedding, party or stage, see event floors. For cables and cooling indoors, see raised access floors.

Can a pedestal floor go over a sloped or uneven base?

Yes. That is what the pedestals are for. Each one adjusts to its own height, so the top stays level while the base below slopes or dips.

Do you visit before you quote?

Yes. We visit, measure and check the base, then send a written quote at no cost. Photos and rough sizes help us come prepared.
