Pedestal pavers
Turn a flat roof, terrace, balcony or pool deck into a level outdoor floor. Our pedestal pavers sit on adjustable supports, so the surface stays flat while water drains underneath.
The roof keeps the slope it needs for drainage. You get a floor you can walk, dine and relax on, from the door to the railing.
We build these decks for condo buildings, homes and businesses across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. We work in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and the cities between.
Where we install
Any flat or gently sloped surface that needs a level floor on top is a candidate. We check each one on a free site visit.
Shared roof decks and private penthouse terraces, planned with the board and the building manager.
Pavers set on pedestals over the balcony membrane, or right over old tile.
Paver decks around pools and plunge pools, including steps built on pedestals.
Walkable decks over parking garages, with the waterproofing left reachable below.
Outdoor living space on a flat or low-slope roof, with the drains kept clear underneath.
Raised patios set level over old sidewalks and uneven paving.
Surfaces
The decks in our photos are large outdoor porcelain pavers. Porcelain does not rot or rust, and it holds up to sun, rain and salt air.
Outdoor porcelain is thicker than indoor tile, so each paver can span from pedestal to pedestal.
Heavier than porcelain, which can suit open, windy roofs and large plaza decks.
Square deck tiles on the same pedestals, for a warmer look and feel underfoot.
Not sure which surface fits your roof? We talk through the options on the site visit.
Why pedestals
Pedestals lift the floor off the roof. That small gap does a lot of work.
Wind and storms
Miami-Dade and Broward are in Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Palm Beach County is outside it, but strong wind rules still apply.
Wind is stronger on a high roof than at street level. Edges and corners take the most force.
We choose paver weight and edge restraints for the site. We confirm engineering and permit needs with your building and city before we quote.
Summer afternoon storms can drop heavy rain in minutes. On pedestals, that water falls through the joints and runs to the drains below.
Condo projects
Condo rooftop and balcony work usually needs the board's approval first. We help that go smoothly.
On oceanfront buildings, salt air is hard on metal. Porcelain pavers do not rust.

Our work
Every deck starts as a grid of pedestals. We set each one to height, check it with a laser level, then lay the pavers.

The details decide how a deck works in a storm. These are the parts we take the most care with.

They are outdoor pavers set on adjustable supports instead of mortar or sand. The supports keep the deck level while rain drains through the joints to the roof or slab below.
Wind is the main design question on a South Florida roof. We choose paver weight and edge restraints for your site. We confirm engineering needs with your building and city before we quote.
They rest on the surface on protection pads, without fasteners into the roof. We check the roof's condition before we quote.
Usually, after we check its condition and slope. If the waterproofing needs work, it is easier to fix before the deck goes down. We have also set pavers on pedestals right over an old tiled balcony.
It depends on the pedestal system and the roof. Pedestals can keep a deck low on a nearly flat roof, or raise it to meet a door threshold. We measure and confirm the height on the site visit.
Often on high-rises. Rules differ by city and by building. We check what your job needs with the building and the city before we quote.
Yes. Drains stay under the deck, and the pavers above them lift out. Where a floor drain sits in the deck, we can cut a paver so it stays reachable.
